Bastiann De Rooji
About Bastiann De Rooji

Torah is the way Yah wants to govern His people. After understanding that, Bas’ heart opened for the Torah, especially for the Sabbath and the Feasts. He then heard about the name Yahuah and came across the Cepher. During the corona times, an online prayer group initiated by a friend was where he met Joanna, his Malaysian wife. They’ve been married since February 2023. Through Joanna and her friend Stacey, Bas became acquainted with EHWAL and Stephen Pidgeon. Through EHWAL, Bas and Joanna met with the Philadelphia Community (Netherlands) during their Sukkot celebration and have joined their fellowship ever since. Both are very thankful for the love and fellowship there along with the opportunity to learn new things together.

However, the Catholic church pursued him after his death. He was denounced as a heretic by the Council of Constance in 1415 and in 1428 Richard Fleming, the Bishop of Lincoln was present with other church dignitaries to see his bones exhumed, burned and the ashes thrown into the River Swift.
  • We will also visit St Marys Church, renowned for its former Rector, John Wycliffe and see his original works translating the Bible into English in the 14th century, which has now become a centre for mission through him.
  • Rugby School: Famous for its architecture and where the game was created.
