We are not always permited our hearts desires and such was the case for Moses. He desired to enter the Promised Land aside the people he had led in the 40 years since leaving Egypt.
And I besought El-Yahuah at that time, saying. O Adonai Yahuah, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand: for what EL is there in the heavens or in the earth, than can do according to your works and according to your might. I pray you, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond the Yarden (Jorden), that goodly mountain and Lebanon.
BUT – Moses was heartbroken Yahuah would not let him enter the land; only allowing him to view the land at a distance. Despite Moses’ disappointment, he did not turn his back on Adonai Yahuah or the people that Yah had put in his charge.
